This allows the cable
on one drum to be reeled in while the cable on the other drum
is reeled out. The Blusher bucket is then attached to one of
the cables and by simultaneous reeling and unreeling of cables - _
pulls the Blusher bucket dawn into the sump. The direction of the
C
cable is then reversed and the Blusher pulls the bucket back out
of the sump, in the process, loads the bucket ~dith fine material.
This fine material is then drawn out of the entry and dumped out
of the bucket at a location for pick-up and transportation out-
side. This process is carried on simultaneously with vrater being
pumped into the sump and will nut necessitate draining of the sump.
The sump will only have to be drained in order to replace the
sheave or the cable in the sump.
How much sediment:
2.57 acre feet
(2.57 acre feet) (43560 ft2/acre) (120 lb/ft3) = (2000 lb/ton)
= 6,117 tons in available space
at 10 tons per hour expected deposition
671.7 hours of deposition
671.7 hours = 14 hours/day = 48 days
120 lbs. is based on Peiie's S.G. for clayey sand at 1.93
1.93 x 62.4 1b/ft3 = 120.4 1b/ft3
•
tv=- ..
