EXHIBIT E -RECLAMATION PLAN
Final reclamation of the gravel pit is to be for grazing and wildlife habitat. This conforms to
the land use in the area in general and in nearby Pike National Forest. Reclamation of the
approximately 32-acre pit area will follow the timetable as described in Exhibit D (Mining Plan)
and will be done in accordance with site vegetation information and applicable USDA-SCS
specifications, standards and guidelines (USDA-SCS, 1977; USDA-SCS, 1981a; and USDA-
SCS, 1981b).
OPERATIONS
Each reclamation operation will be completed for the applicable phased gravel pit areas as shown
on the Reclamation Plan Map (Exhibit F). Reclamation will commence after mining has been
completed each year. Thus, reclamation activities will be occurring on the first three acres
while mining proceeds on the second three acres during the second year of the operation.
Mining will be confined at any one time to 10.7-acre blocks. Three such blocks are specified
for the total mine area of 32 acres. The following are considered to be the main reclamation
operations:
1) Removal and stockpiling of topsoil prior to hauling of borrow soil (to be completed at
beginning of gravel mining).
2) Grading to final contours of borrow area and scarification of surface (to be completed
within six months after completion of gravel mining).
3) Replacement and grading of soil from topsoil area (to be completed within eight months
after completion of gravel mining).
4) Incorporating fertilizer as specified by the plan (to be completed within ten months after
completion of gravel mining).
5) Seeding grasses, mulching, and fencing (to be completed within one year after
completion of gravel mining).
The following seed mixture will be used to establish stabilizing vegetation on the stockpiled
(interim) topsoil and will be seeded within one year after placement of the topsoil stockpile(s):
v~~.o~
irovt $
