construction.
(2) Footings should also be designed for a minimum dead load pressure
of 1,500 psf.
(3) If continuous foundation walls are used, they should be reinforced
to span an unsupported length of at least 10 feet.
(4) Excessively loose or soft pockets of soil found within the loaded
depth of the footings should be removed and the footings extended
to lower f(rm soil or the removed soli replaced compacted.
(5) All footings should be placed below frost depth. The anticipated
level of frost penetration Is 4 feet.

Fill against footings, stem walls, and retaining structures should be
placed to a minimum 90$ of the ASTN D698 density to minimize total
active pressures.
Equivalent Active Pressures:
Undisturbed overburden Boll 45 psf/ft.
Compacted backfill 35 psf/ft.
Undisturbed claystone bedrock 35 psf/ft.
The above values consider no buildup of hydrostatic pressure.
