Box 3609 <br />Grand Junction, Colorado 81502 <br />PHONE: 243-4900 <br />C'.OMMON LOCATION OF PROPERTY: 30 Road end C.5 Road <br />TAX PARCEL NUMBER: 2943-204-00-096 <br />Colorado River Station: 390+80 - 390+90 <br />100 YEAR FL000 ELEVATION: 4599.5 - 4601.1 <br />An application has been made for placement of a gravel <br />extraction, processing and storage operatlon adjacent to the <br />Colorado River. <br />The subJect property ices within the Agricultural, Forestry <br />Transitional Zoning tAFT) District of Mesa County and the use <br />described above 1s in conformance with uses listed as appropriate <br />for this zone. <br />A summary of the permit application process Is as follows: <br />A pre-application meeting was held at the site on June 11, <br />1990 whereby we discussed the proposed operations and <br />possible mitigation measures for the stabilization of the <br />northern bank of the Colorado adJacent to the mining <br />operatlon area. <br />initial application was made for a Floodplaln permit on July <br />28, 1990 and hereby approved. <br />Based on the site visit and on the material submitted the <br />following evaluations have been determined: <br />I. The underlying AFT zoning allows the proposed use and <br />construction of the culverts in the tributary. <br />2. The floodway channel and the hydraulic carrying capacity <br />at this station will not be encroached upon or obstructed by <br />the proposed development. <br />3. The mining activities w111 not create any adverse affect <br />on the adJoining properties. <br />4. There is no danger that materials stored on this site <br />will be swept downstream In the 100 year flood event. <br />
