!.
EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN
The area to be covered by this Permit includes a portion of
ground included in a 1973 Act Permit, Open Mining Permit No. 14,
which expires June 30, 1979. The area covered by Permit No. •14
includes what is now a lake located west of 23 Road, with an ap-
proximate surface area of 13 acres (see Exhibit C).
The area to be covered by this permit also includes an existing
unpermitted mined area east of 23 Road containing 14 acres, the existing
processing and stockpile site containing 13 acres, and two proposed
gravel pit areas identified as Pit I and II, located west of 23 Road
(see Exhibit C)..
• We plan to mine the overburden, sand and gravel deposits from the pro-
posed Pits I and II. Topsoil will be stripped from Pit Area I and stock-
piled in the processing site for use during reclamation. The overburden
will be excavated, loaded into trucks and hauled from the site to be used
as fill material. The sand and gravel will be excavated from the pit,
loaded into trucks and hauled to the processing site where it will be
stockpiled.
Due to the high water table in this area, approximately 5 feet below
[he existing ground surface, the pit operation will require dewatering to
mine the full depth of the gravel deposits which is approximately 12 feet
in thickness. Dewatering will be accomplished by digging a sump in the
lower corner and pumping the water into the existing pit located west and
south of Pit 1 and II, respectively. Pumping will be conducted in accor-
dance with the provisions of our NPDES Permit No. CO-0027383.
