Phase IV Week]y Summary No. 27 Page 2
003-2203
Slope recontouring in the Phase Na area included blasting east of the existing HWY 67, at
Permanent Diversion Channel stations 34+00 through 40+00 on August 6e' through 8u', 10`s, and
lla'.
Ames continued clearing and grubbing in the Phase Na area at the Bateman Creek Pond
construction azea. Ames removed all available topsoil and placed it in Visual Barrier topsoil
stockpile.
Phase IVb
Ames continued placement and compaction efforts of SF, west of the active crusher, for the new
LOB construction. Ames placed SF in approximately 2-foot lifts, removed oversized and deleterious
material (roots), moisture conditioned, and compacted the fill that was borrowed from the Phase IVa
slope excavation and Phase Nb local borrow. Compaction was attained by use of a smooth drum
vibratory compactor. ~ ~
No confirmation drilling or underground working remediation occurred within the Phase IVb azea
during this reporting period.
PhaseIVc
Ames began slope recontouring within the Phase IVc azea by removing cut material and placing it in
the Phase IVb fill.
Ames conducted confirmation drilling at UG-236, UG-244, and UG-246b. Ames confirmed an
underground working located at UG-244 and conducted blast drilling and blasting on August 9a'.
(See Attachment A for approximate construction locations for all Phase IV azeas.)
Field Monitoring and Testing Activities
Golder observed clearing and grubbing activities in Upper Arequa Gulch (Phase IVa). Clearing and
grubbing activities were conducted within the clearing limits.
Golder monitored SF placement in the Phase N area including, verification of lift thickness,
material, compactive effort, particle size, and temperature for compliance with the drawings and
method specifications. No moisture/density tests were performed on SF during this reporting period,
as material was un-testable per ASTM D698, based on laboratory testing and visual determination.
Golder observed the removal of oversized and deleterious material from the fill.
Golder observed confirmation drilling and underground working excavation in Phase IVc (full time).
Golder observed confirmation drilling at UG-236, UG-244, and UG-246b and blasting at UG-244.
Laboratory Test Results
Golder did not conduct any laboratory testing during this reporting period.
PM1aze rVa 2] AugS-I I doc Golder Associates Inc.
