Phase IV Weekly Summary No. 37 Page 2
loaded several 777 haul trucks. The material was then hauled to the Arequa Gulch fill azea. SF
materials were placed in horizontal lifts typically not exceeding 2 foot in loose thickness. A
Caterpillaz CS563C roller provided compactive effort, while a Caterpillar water wagon provided
moisture conditioning when needed or required. SF material would also be placed in the
uncontrolled azea to the north of the fill when needed.
Ames loaded out selected rip-rap material from blasted rock shot azeas neaz UG-445 and UG-446
(DIO hilt) by use of a Cat 375 track-hoe or a Cat 992 loader and several Cat 777 haul trucks. The
material was then hauled to the Ames crusher azea for further processing.
Ames began excavation and removal of the old existing highway 67 asphalt and guardrail. A Cat
3751oaded several Cat 777 haul trucks, which then hauled the waste to the sky dump.
Ames blasted underground laterals at UG-456 on Wednesday.
Ames performed blast-drilling activities on Monday through Friday during this reporting period, in
the central and southern portion of the Phase IVa azea. Blasting occurred Wednesday, Thursday, and
Friday during this reporting period.
Phase IVb
Ames performed excavation remediation activities for known underground workings UG-238, 241,
251, and 252. If the workings were verified as shallow, a Cat D7 dozer and a Cat 563 roller would
backfill the excavations and compact the shaft back to grade with SF. Otherwise, the shaft was left
• open for further remediation to be performed later.
Ames performed grubbing and clearing of topsoil and removed trees. A Cat D7 and a Cat 330 track-
hoe removed trees and stripped topsoil from the southwestern area of Phase IVb. Topsoil and slash
were piled locally for relocation at a later date.
Ames did not perform any drilling activities associated with the Phase IVb construction azea.
Phase IVc
Ames performed excavation remediation activities for known underground workings UG-236, 239,
239B, 239C, 239D, 239E, 239F, 240, 246, 254, 255, and 256. If the workings were verified as
shallow, a Cat D7 dozer and a Cat 563 roller would backfill the excavations and compact the shaft
back to grade with SF. Otherwise, the shaft was left open for further remediation to be performed
later.
Ames performed grubbing and cleazing of topsoil and removed trees. A Cat D7 and a Cat 330 track-
hoe removed trees and stripped topsoil from the southwestern azea of Phase IVc, near the existing
topsoil pile, west of the Phase IVc limits. Topsoil and slash were piled locally for relocation at a
later date.
Ames performed confirmatory drilling activities associated with the Phase IVc construction area, on
LJ
PhuelVsl]Oa19-Op20.doc Golder Associates lnc.
