Phase IV Weekly Summary No. 29 Page 2 <br />footprint, where the Arequa gulch overburden storage azea sedimentation pond will later be <br />constructed. <br />Ames also cleazed and grubbed topsoil from the southern inboazd slope ofthe Phase IVa azea by use <br />of a Caterpillar D8 dozer, a Caterpillar 9661oader, and several Caterpillaz 777 haul trucks. Topsoil <br />material was hauled to a neazby stockpile, located south of the new highway 67 construction. <br />Ames conducted slope re-contouring in the Phase Na azea, which included blasting east of the <br />existing HWY 67, at Permanent Diversion Channel stations 34+00 through 44+00 on August 22"a <br />through 25'". <br />No confirmation drilling or underground working remediation occurred within the Phase Na area <br />during this reporting period. <br />Phase IVb <br />Ames completed placement and compaction efforts of SF, west of the active crusher, for the new <br />LOB construction subgrade. A Caterpillaz D8 dozer was used in the azea to perform rough grading <br />of the southwest facing inboard side slope. Several laborers were present during grading activities to <br />remove debris and deleterious material ahead of the dozer. Ames finished the top of the SF in small <br />cut to fill azeas by use of a Caterpillar paddlewheel scraper, and the D8 dozer. Compaction was <br />attained by use of a smooth drum vibratory compactor and supplemented by haul trucks splitting <br />their tracks across the fill. The water wagon and/ or the Mack water truck attained moisture <br />conditioning when necessary. <br />. No confirmation drilling or underground working remediation occurred within the Phase Nb azea <br />during this reporting period. <br />Phase Nc <br />Ames did not perform any construction activities within the Phase IVc azeas during this reporting <br />period. <br />No confirmation drilling or underground working remediation occurred within the Phase Nc azea <br />during this reporting period. <br />(See Attachment A for approximate construction locations for all Phase N areas.) <br />Field Monitoring and Testing Activities <br />Golder observed clearing and grubbing activities in Upper Arequa Gulch (Phase IVa), and in the <br />southern limits of the Phase IVa area. Cleazing and grubbing activities were conducted within the <br />clearing limits. <br />Golder monitored SF placement in all the Phase IV azeas including, verification of lift thickness, <br />material, compactive effort, particle size, and temperature for compliance with the drawings and <br />L~ <br />rn~~ rve xs a,e,v-n.m~ Golder Associates Inc. <br />
