T ~i r ° •
October 21, 1983
James McArdle
~" Page 2
ti.
5. The operator will commit to the recommended setback from the
East high water line. The Extraction Plan map (Sheet 8) has
been modified to reflect said setback for mining.
C. EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Map
1. Prudent construction techniques will be utilized in both stripping
and re-plating of topsoil; therefore, haul routes and distances
will be kept to a minimum and may be considered not to exceed
1,000 feet.
2. We recognize that, as stated in your review letter, 200 lbs/acre
of P205 is too high and could result in damage to the seedlings.
We intend, therefore, to apply a balanced fertilizer per the rec-
ommendations specified by the manufacturer at the time of seeding.
3. According to the review letter recommendation, the operator will
drill seed winter. wheat as opposed to hydromulching.
4. The review letter recommendation, in terms of seed mix, will be
~. followed. Sheet 1 has been changed to reflect said seed mix.
The seed mix will. be planted between July 15 and August 15.
5. The recommended <<dditional trees and shrubs will be incorporated
in the reclamation. The Reclamation Plan map (Sheet 9) has
been modified to reflect said additions.
6. Revegetated areas will not be grazed until the reclamation bond
has been released.
F. EXHIBIT L - Reclamation Costs
1. Breakdown of Costs - Reclamation construction shall be done with
existing on-site equipment in conjunction with the gravel extrac-
tion process. Reclamation will actually coincide with, and in
some cases be part of, the proposed gravel operation.
Equipment costs will be very minimal, due to the utilization of
the existing on-site equipment. We have estimated that the ad-
ditional costs, in terms of fuel and labor, will be $350.00
per acre. It should be noted that the owner/operator, having
equipment already at hand, and being responsible for the recla-
mation plan, will be able to accomplish these goals in a cost
effective manner. We feel that the $350.00 per acre amount will
be generous and well within budgeted guidelines for the duration
of the project.
2. Areas of Disturbance
Severe - Actual mined area (area which will become lake).
80q - Areas of lake bank (to be rough graded, ripped and
scarified, topsoiled and seeded).
Moderate - Parkin; areas, internal haul routes, stockpiled areas,
201 areas of equipment use and storage, sanolet areas, etc.
- -~....r --- z FaL~~-~;:-_.~ ~ _- - -
-- -._ _-
