Reclamation success for herbaceous production shall be met when the value of the reclaimed
area is ai least 90 percent of the comparison standard ui th 90 percent statistical
confidence. The following weighting formula will be used.
REV MD ]PS
Ta
with 90 percent statistical confidence
where:
xREV = Average herbaceous production, reclaimed area
MDa = Mesic drainage acreage, premine area
IPSa = Improved pasture-subirrigated, premine area
xM0 = Average reference area herbaceous production, mesic drainage
'x = Average reference area herbaceous production, improved pasture-subirrigated
IPS
Ta = Total of relative community types used in comparison, premine area
The production success standard for all permanently reclaimed areas in the haul road
• corridor will be based on a weighted mean herbaceous production value. This value will be
determined from historical production records from undisturbed portions of the study area
along the haul road corridor. The four premine vegetation types described under the cover
success standard for the haul road corridor will be used to develop the success standard.
CRP lands will be seeded to permanent vegetation unless the landowner requests they be
returned to cropland. Reclamation success for all permanently reclaimed areas shall be
met when the value of the reclaimed area is at least 90 percent of the comparison standard
with 90 percent statistical confidence.
