III I{I~Illllflll'll Doc Date:1 211 112 0 01
sss
•
~~ 3.02.1(5)(6) Bond Requirements ~~
In accordance with the rues and regulations of the CMLRD and the provisions of this
section, Rimrock Coal Company elects to submit a Bonding schedule.
The life of the mine is calculated to be five years at a production rate of 30,000 tons a year
or three years at a rate of 50,000 tons a year. The three year plan will be followed if
contracts for coal are available. The available coal reserves are considered about equally
divided between the Phase 1 and 2 pits which are separated by Engleville Gulch.
In Ure 38 acres of the permit are on]y 7.11 acres will be disturbed, and of this acreage only
7.11 acres will require reclamation. The 4.02 acres not requiring any restoration is in haul
and other roads that were in use prior to mining and will be used for access afterwards, as
adjacent landowners have rights of entry reserved. Also included is the sediment pond
which will be left as a stock pond when mining is completed.
A stockpile of topsoil will be stored in a storage area and the redistribution will be make
• at the conclusion of the first or second pit operation deepening on the local availability of
topsoil at the end of Phase 1.
The return haulage cost is 4,000 yds. @ 1.40625 yd = $ 5,625.00
As overburden is removed from the coal it will be returned to the part of the pit that has
been mined, thereby eliminating the need for permanent stockpiling. This transfers the cost
of backfilling overburden to a mining cost rather than a reclamation cost, and is treated as
such. the sediment pond dam will req~~ire restoration and seeding above water line, as the
two coal stockpile areas, fuel storage area, crusher site, and topsoil storage area. All of
these are lumped into the reclamation and seeding of Phase 1 pit, and totals 9.18 acres.
Site prep and revegetation 9.18 acres @ $ 750.00 acre = $6,885.00
The worse case scenario left unrestored in Phase 1 is not as bad as during the Phase 2
operation which is estimated to be and open area of over 44,000 yards. The pre-mining
cross section shown on Map No.7 shows the coal is under less overburden and more strung
out in Phase 1 and 2. An open area of 20,000 cubic yards would be a more appropriate
figure.
20,000 cu./yds. @ .9799 cu./yd = $ 19,598.00
Total Bond required for Phase 1 -$ 25,223.00
-1-
