~C
Both methods: Jacob's and the Theis Recovery, yield very similar results for
transmissivity. Although the transmissivity value given by the flow test is much
lower, the transmissivity values given from the Theis recovery and Jacob's drawdown
are thought to be more representative of the HI aquifer near well GP-3, because they
compare fairly well with the transmissivity values for the Jacob and Theis methods
for well GP-3A.
A-2.29.1 GP-3A TEST
•
Well GP-3A was used as an observation well during a multi-well drawdown test
conducted September 23, 1985. Well GP-3 was used as the pumping well. Water level
was monitored in well GP-3A while pumping GP-3
observed in well GP-3A during the multi-well test.
Table A-35 presents the drawdowns
The drawdown data for well GP-3A from the multi-well test o^ well GP-3 is
presented in Figures A-42 (log-log) and A-43 (semi-log1. The data is presented in
log-log and semi-log forme so the Theis method and Jacob method, respectively, can
be used.
A Theis type curve is used to achieve a match to the drawdown data on the log-
log plot. A transmissivity value of 200 gal/day/ft is obtained from the type curve
match for the HI aquifer near well GP-3A. The storage coefficient of the NI aquifer
near well GP-3A was calculated to be 1.0E-4. Permeability was calculated to be 0.54
ft/day
The semi-log plot of the drawdown data for well GP-3A is presented in Figure
•`
A-19 REVISED FEB 13 '87
