n
U

D1VIS[ON OF MINERALS & GEOLOG]' BOARD PERMIT APPl,1CATlON
REGULAR OPERATION (112)
PROJECT NAME: ROGUE/RIVER P1T
I'~aE
E:~IIIBIT D - MINING PLAN
As pit excavation proceeds to the west, dewatering
operations will be relocated to the west accordingly.
Dewatering operations may be suspended during winter shut-
down.
;. R~hen overburden is encountered, the material will be
removed by scrapers and dozers if ground conditions permit.
If wet conditions or wetland areas are encountered, the
material will be separated and excavated with an excavator
and loaded on haul units. Where operations permit, the
overburden will be used as backfill in previously excavated
areas. It is anticipated [hat minimal overburden will be
encountered. Therefore, we do not anticipate handling
problems associated with the overburden removal. Very
little, if any, of this material should require stock-
piling prior to backfilling in the pit excavations.
C~
1. Gravel reserves will be mined with an excavator and loaded
on haul units to be transported to the processing areas.
Exploratory tests have indicated that varying sizes of
gravels will be encountered during mining operations. This
material may be separated accordingly and transported to
the proper processing area and stockpiled. If unsuitable
material is encountered during mining operations, the
material will be separated at the excavation and will be
used as backfill in the pit excavations. Mining operations
inay be benched to make full utilization of the existing
gravel reserves. Benching requirements will be determined
by the depth of the gravel reserves and safety
considerations.
The excavated interior pit slope will be a minimum of 3:l
slope from existing ground to ten feet below water and 2:1
gradient from there to the bottom of the excavation.
Perimeters of the pond area at or near water level may be
"flattened" to create additional wetland areas.
•
5. There will he one main operation to occur on site. This
will consist of a crushing and screening operation that
will include a commercial crusher set-up with miscellaneous
conveyors and screens. Additional operations may be set up
for specialized material processing. These may include:
a. A screening plant consisting of a conveyor and screen.
b. A portable commercial asphalt plant.
c. A portable commercial concrete batch plant.
Duckels Construction, Inc. dba Yampa Aggregates
412311 Routt County Rd. #129, Steamboat Springs, Colorado 30457
