Phase Ill

Continuing west, Phase II1 will affect an additional 6
acres. This area contains approximately 0.(1`L acres of
wetlands. Mining in this phase is estimated to last 3 to
4 years. Phase III will incorporate portions of Phase I
and II for interior roads, Uackfill anri reclamation.
Plant sites and settling ponds will remain the same as in
the previous phase. The roads used in Phase I1 will he
utilized for access to the area. A haul road from the
plant site access road will access Phase Ilt for mining
purposes.
• Expansion of the pit will continue into Phase III. Mining
and dewatering operations will Ue similar to the previous
phases.
Topsoil from Phase II and II1 will Ue stockpiled along the
west and north sides of Phase III. These stockpiles will
be approximately 12 feet high, 24 feet wide with finished
slopes not exceeding 2:1. The stockpiles will be approxi-
mately 900 feet in length, cover approximately 1.5 acres
and may consist of approximately J4,200 cubic yards.
Topsoil stockpiles will be irregularly shaped and reseeded
as per SCS recommendations. Excess topsoil will be used
for commercial use.
A settling pond may be constructed along the south edge of
Phase III for dewatering.
Fencing will be similar to previous phases.
