• DIVISION OF MINERALS &. GEOLOGY BOARD PERh11T APPLICATION
REGULAR OPERATION (ll2)
PROTECT NAME: HOGUE/RIVER PIT
1'n t,~ 12
ESHIBIT D - MINING PLAN
Phase li
.4. Maior Disturbance Areas
Phase II operations will expand operations to [he west from
Phase I operations. Approximately 1355 of this area is
designated wetlands. Total area of Phase II will be
approximately 10 acres. Phase I will incorporate portions
of Phase I for interior roads and portions of the pit for
backfill areas. The estimated life of Phase 11 is ~ years.
The plant site will be relocated during Phase II. After
the southwest corner of Phase II is mined, the plant site
will he relocated to this area. This will allow
reclamation of Phase I and move the plant further from U.B.
Highway 40. As in Phase I, the plant will be located in
• the pit area. This will help reduce the visual and noise
impacts of the operations. The plant may be located as
much as 25 feet to 35 feet below the existing surface in
this location. Interior access to the relocated plant site
will enter the project at the northeast corner. enter into
the pit area and angle to the southwest as shown on the
attached map.
Phase II mining operations will expand the pond as shown on
the attached map. Approximately 10 acres will be utilized
for gravel mining in Phase [I. An additional 16.200 cubic
yards of topsoil will be generated from Phase li.
This topsoil will be stockpiled along the west boundaries
of Phase III as shown on the "Mine Phasing" map. Topsoil
may also be stockpiled in the northwest corner of the Phase
[ pit. This topsoil will be utilized for reclamation and
commercial use. Reclamation areas of Phase i will be
topsoiled directly from topsoil stripping operations in
Phase II.
As in Phase I, the topsoil removal area will be minimized
by only removing topsoil in the immedia[e vicinity of
actual mining. Wetlands exist in the area to be mined in
Phase II. Therefore, to eliminate placing fill in a
. wetlands area, we will utilize the following method of
topsoil removal and gravel extraction.
Duckels Construction, Inc. dba Yampa Aggregates
41230 Routt County Rd. #129, steamboat Springs.
