~ CONCLUSIONS <br />The North Thompson mine site was sampled, with the main focus being to <br />estimate absolute cover in the reclaimed and reference areas. Sixteen cover transecu <br />were sampled in the reclaimed area, exceeding the sample adequacy value of 13.6. <br />Similarly, the 22 reference area transects exceeded sample adequacy requirements <br />(SA=20.9). Total vegetative cover was measured at 44.1 %, with total perennial, non- <br />noxious cover contributing 98.0% of that total. Both values exceed the 90% value <br />measured from the reference area (100% = 46.9%; 90% = 42.2%). Perennial cover <br />therefore exceeds the success standard, assuming that the extended reference area <br />concept be accepted, and would therefore qualify the site for Phase II bond release <br />consideration. The data also indicate that the site presently complies with the <br />applicable woody stem success standard but does not comply with the species diversity <br />I <br />~ standard. <br /> <br />11 <br />
