The balance of
this letter will list the clarification questions followed by
Ideal's comments.
(1) "How does the quarrying of the Old Concrete Quarry
Area fit into the overall mining timetable? About
when will Ideal commence quarrying in this area?
Will cuts be ready for final grading at 30 month
intervals once the sequence is established as in the
rest of the quarry operations?"
As explained in the application Exhibit D(e), the many
contingency factors such as cement plant production rates
and expected future changes in quarry techniques, does not
contribute to good timetable accuracy for this unique, long-
time operation. It is expected Ideal will reopen the Old
Concrete Quarry sometime between the years 2035 and 2050.
The quarry cuts do vary in size, but an estimate of the
time interval from the start to remove limestone from a
new cut to final reclamation grading of that cut is about
30 months.
(2) "The staff is concerned
in the Old Concrete Qua
titularly the nort~e~si
will be taken to asei4e
Creek?
