The area being open mined has no hydrological
balance, by irrigation or ground water and thus
does not create a problem.
h. The areas outside the effected land are protected
from slides or damage by leaving a portion of
the hillside along the perimeter of the open mining
area (the open mine being situate on a hillside,
and the hill providing the sand and gravel necessary
for operator's usage).
8. Because of that stated hereinabove the affected land is
stabilized and protected to control erosion and air and
water pollution. There is no spoil pile associated with
this open mine.
9. As no full scale planning will be done as a part of the
operation, fire lanes or access roads will not be necessary.
10. The operator does not plan to permit the public access to
the lands for recreational purposes.
11. The following information is pursuant to the resolution
passed by the Board, and follows paragraph 1 in said
resolution:
a. The real property may be reached by traveling east
from Delta on Colorado Highway 92 to Austin, and
turning north on the Austin-Cory road (hard topped
county road.) The site is marked and is approximately
2 miles north and west of Austin.
b. The number of disturbed acres will be 8.32 acres.
c.
