• <br />required. The location of the topsoil removal is shown on Map 19, <br />Mine No. 3 Soils. <br />(G) Overburden. A narrative and appropriate maps explaining the <br />removal, handling and storage of all overburden material in the permit <br />area. Each narrative should include pit dimensions, overburden volumes and <br />swell factor anticipated for each phase of the proposed operation. <br />Permanent excess spoil and underground development waste disposal structures <br />shall comply with 2.05.3(6)(b). Temporary overburden and underground <br />development disposal (storage) structures shall comply with the applicable <br />performance standards of Rule 4; information to demonstrate such compliance <br />shall include, if applicable, location, geometry and method of material <br />placement. If appropriate for the proposed operation, each plan should also <br />include: <br />RESPONSE: <br />Mine No. 3 has been reclaimed, this section is no longer applicable. <br />• <br /> <br />A total overburden volume of 510,000 BCY's will be excavated at <br />Energy Mine No. 3 in six sequential cuts, each 100 feet in width and <br />averaging 1,200 feet in length. The geometry and dimensions of the <br />strip pits are shown on Map 6, Mine Plan and Map 18, Overburden <br />Stockpile and Mine Area Cross-Sections.
