• The haulroad will be crowned to prevent ponding and to conduct
water into side ditches. Surface runoff from the road will be
intercepted by diversion ditches and conveyed into the detention basin
prior to being released into the natural drainageway. Thereby,
drainage from the haulroad will meet the requirements of Eule 4.05.
The sediment control system for Nine No. 3 vas designed to safely peas
the peak runoff from a 10-year, 24-hour precipitation event.
Calculations are included in Sahibit 3, Sediment Control plan.
Sediment control structures aze discussed in detail under Bule 2.05.6
(3).
Neasurea to control erosion within the disturbed area may include
• stabilizing eapoaed surfaces with straw dikes, rip-rap, check dame,
mulches, vegetation sediment filters or other devices that reduce
overland flow velocity, decrease runoff volume, or trap sediment. One
or more of these erosion control measures will be implemented as
needed.
Surfacing
The Colorado Yampa Coal Company proposes to surface the haulroad
with the granular spoils eziating at the mine site. These materials
have historically proven to be sufficiently durable with proper
maintenance. No acid- or toxic-forming substances are present in the
proposed surfacing materials.
•
2.05 - 16
