B. Employee Training <br />Employee training programs shall inform personnel at all levels of responsibility of <br />the components and goals of the SWMP. Training should address topics such as spill <br />response, good housekeeping, and material management practices. The SWMP shall <br />identify periodic dates for such training. Contractor or temporary personnel shalt be <br />informed of plant operation and design features in order to prevent discharges or spills <br />from occurring. <br />Training will be based on the following SWMP training outline: <br />I. Introduction to 1VPDES Storm Water Permits <br />A. Background information <br />B. Status of permit <br />II. Pertinent components of the permit for this facility: <br />A. SWMP <br />1. Spill response and clean-up procedures <br />2. Good Housekeeping procedures <br />3. Best Management Practices <br />a. What they aze and where they apply <br />b. Implementation <br />c. Maintenance <br />4. Inspections <br />B. Monitoring and sampling (if required) <br />III. Reporting and Recordkeeping <br />N. Enforcement <br />The training sessions will be attended by critical staff involved in any of the activities <br />discussed in the I3MP section. This includes all levels of personnel involved in <br />operations and maintenance. <br />• All new hires involved in plant and equipment operations and <br />maintenance shall be informed of the components and goals of the SWMP <br />as part of new employee orientation. <br />• All critical staff shall receive training associated with this SWMP at least <br />once a year. <br />• In addition, all critical staff shall receive training associated with <br />appropriate revisions to this SWMP within 14 days of initiation of said <br />SWMP revisions. <br />34 <br />
