•
it
I
EXHIBIT G - WATER INFORMATION ~
~-9
Exploration drilling has indicated that groundwater
may occur in the basal sandstone beds of the Brushy Basin
Member of the Morrison Formation, at an average thickness
of twenty feet, as well as the lower thirty to forty feet
of the Third Rim Sandstone of the Salt Wash.
If water is encountered prior to the bottoming_of the

decline, it will be diverted to a sump where it can be
reused in the drilling. If there is an excess_it_v_~ill be
pumped to a surface pond where it will be evaporated. There
is a definite indication that this will be necessary. (For
approximate location, see Exhibit C.)
A. The operation is not expected to directly affect
surface or groundwater systems.
C. Projected water requirements:
Development 10,000 gal/month 120,000 gal/year
Mining 10,000 gal/month 120,000 gal/year
Reclamation None required
D. The water used at this time is purchased and
hauled from the City of Naturita by a commercial
hauler. The City of Naturita has water rights
on the San Miguel River. The reliability of this
source depends upon whether or not the river flows.
