6.4.5 Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan
Description
Reclamation will occur concurrently with mining following completion of gravel
extraction in Cell A. Reclamation will backfill Cell A to approximate historic grade,
leave a 3-4 acre groundwater fed pond in Cell B, backfill Cell C and leave a
Depression on Cell D. All affected areas (not pond) will have topsoil replacement
and be re-vegetated with native vegetation followed by a weed control program.
Exhibit F- Reclamation Plan Map shows final grading and topsoil/ re-vegetation
areas.
Table 6.4.5-1. Stockpiled and in situ
overburden from Cell B will then be backfilled into the mined out Cell A.
Following Mining of Cell B, overburden stockpiled in Cell A will be backfilled for
final slope grading (pond) into Cell B.
Topsoil Replacement
Topsoil will be segregated during stripping. Topsoil salvaged from the existing
ground surface of the mining excavation will be placed in designated areas.
Topsoil replacement will occur as indicated in Exhibit F- Reclamation Plan Map.
Topsoil will be replaced to a depth of 1.5 ft. Topsoil quantities for both the east
(Cells A and B) and west (Cells C and D) pit areas are provided in Table 3 -
Topsoil Replacement Volume Summary below.
Gardels Pit
Regular 112 Permit Application
