This letter will reiterate my questions about these
items, and some additional items. The Division will need to have
these answered before permit approval can be given. The items are
explained below:
Exhibit B: The windmill mentioned in Exhibit C is a structure. is
the windmill within the permit, or within 200 feet of the permit?
Are there any fences, pipelines, ditches, etc., that are also
located here? The division requires that these and other like
items be identified in the text and on a site map, and the
potential impacts to them from the mining operation.
Exhibit B: Regarding impacts to groundwater, per SB 181, the
Division must have information related to depth of groundwater and
mitigation of potential impacts (ie., fuel or antifreeze spills).
Is equipment to be serviced on site? Will fuel be stored on site?
Exhibit C: item 4. The reference to "clay deposit" is unclear,
since application is for sand and gravel. Please provide a revised
statement of reserve(s) to be extracted (especially regarding the
sand and gravel depths).
Exhibit C: Item 5. Regarding the windmill, if it is within the
permit or the 200-foot envelope, please provide the owner's
clearance or agreement of liability for damage.
Exhibit C: Items 5 and 7. will the "road" referred to here remain
after mining ends or be reclaimed?
(cont.)
