Bond <br />coverage of mill facilities is pending until such time as the R,Ttorney <br />General's office formulates an agreement regarding 'same. Permit not to <br />be issued until such agreement is finalized between Standard Metals Co. <br />and the ?ILRB, its staff and attorneys. tor. Orell also read into the <br />record a letter from the Department of Health, which in essence stated <br />that "a serious iaater quality problem exists due to untreated mine crater <br />coming from the American Tunnel draining the Sunnyside Mine caater to <br />Cement Creek, a tributary to the Animas River...". Discussion ensued on <br />the groundwater issue, with Board agreeing on language of a n!ot.ion addressing <br />same, to be added as condition to the permit. <br />?[OVED to grant permit to Standard Metals Co. 1177-375 for 140 acre silver <br />operation in San Juan County. Bond set at $347,543; coltich figure <br />includes the State's 10% administrative costs. Bon d coverage <br />of mill facilities is pending until such time as the Attorney <br />General's office and the operator shall meet to devise an equitable <br />manner in which the dismantling/removal of surface mill facilities <br />can be achieved. The AG will report back to the AB.F.B in onr month, <br />at the nest regularly scheduled meeting.
