In general, soil stripped from mined areas and fines (from processing) will be used to
shape the edges of the pit, and to divide the pit into three ponds, each with a separate water level. Acreages are
shown in Table E-1.
The objective of the reclamation is to create a stable topography and biological community which can sustain the
proposed post-mining use of the land and protect downstream water quality and quantities. As much as possible,
soil and excess fines will be placed into stockpiles which can be easily moved to their permanent locations as part of
the reclamation, outlining and defining the ponds which will be the major post-reclamation feature of the site.
TABLE E-1. There is no
official zoning classification by the County for the site, and no state land use plans, to our knowledge. The
remainder of the Truelsen parcel of approximately 157 acres is used for agriculture and commercial recreational use;
the properties to the east and west are National Forest System lands with conservation, recreation, and agricultural
i5~o`IO~~'tJ
17p '- lad N'.
