Exhibit Page 9 ~ MAR 21 ?~~l
Diviy~~ orMo F'e~d py~cB
supporting activities. The area actually mined will vary from year to year, depending on tfa~SBGaoi
level worked. Mining will begin in the southeast corner, moving generally north while first °9Y
mining an upper level, and then mining the lower level (which will probably require dewatering),
also generally from south to north. Various areas, primarily on the edge of the permit area, will
be used for stockpiles of overburden and topsoil. Near the end of the life of the permit, various
stockpile areas may be used which will be converted to reclamation features at the end of
mining (see reclamation plan).
PREVIOUS SITE DEVELOPMENT:
This site is irrigated cropland, watered by the Home Ditch (Dolores Priority #3), though in recent
years has been used as irrigated pastureland. There is no visible evidence of past mining or
other activities on the site, other than agricultural use, although there is historical
documentation of a railroad line up the valley at this point, which apparently used the current
road bed of CO Highway 145 or an area immediately adjacent to it.
The permit boundary has been laid out to avoid virtually all wooded areas, and to avoid the river
bank and areas with wetlands or other sensitive areas along the river, thus creating
conservation buffers for these areas.
TABLE D-1. This roadway will be used for
the life of the mine (but will be shortened as mining proceeds) and will be replaced by a
1740 foot road (see Reclamation Plan) after mining by the landowner for access to the
ponds and south field.
Four States Aggregates, LLC 15 MAR 2001
Application for Permit: Line Camp Pit M-2001-001 FSA-LCP-D2-001
