The topsoil and mulch will then be disked and prepared for seeding. <br />Seeding operations should be scheduled to occur in early April or August. Seeding will be <br />completed by drilling or broadcast method. If broadcast method is selected ,the seeding rates <br />shall be doubled, and the seed shall be incorporated into the soil with a harrow or morman creaser. <br />Seed used for reclamation shall consist of the following: <br />SPEC/ES PLS RATE/ACRE % OF M/X <br />lose Tall Whea[grass 25 70 <br />Alkali Sacaton ] ]0 <br />Western Wheatgrass 14 10 <br />Gal lets 13 10 <br />Note: PLS rates listed shall be doubled if broadcast <br />After the azea has been planted, the area shall be fertilized at a rate of 200 lbs. per acre, with 21-0- <br />0 & 0-45-0, or as otherwise recommended by a soil test performed by the Soil Conservation <br />Service. <br />The operator need to implement weed control practices, as required, [o eliminate noxious weeds <br />from the permit area. <br />The site will not be irrigated, as suitable irrigation water sources are not available at the site <br />Part 2 b <br />As discussed above, reclamation proposed for this site, vacant industriaVcommercial zoned land, <br />is appropriate for the site. The surrounding land uses are primarily industrial commercial uses. <br />The site has ah-eady been subdivided into five lots. <br />Par! 2 c <br />3.1.1 Post-Mining Use <br />The post mining land use will be vacant industrial/commercial zoned land. <br />3.1.2 Reclaiming Substituted Land <br />There are no substitute lands proposed with this project. <br />3.1.3 Time Limit and Phased Reclamation <br />Mining at this site will be progressive. Backfill placement required for site <br />reclamation work will occur behind the sand and gravel highwall. Topsoil <br />placement, mulching, seeding, and fertilizing activities will be delayed until all <br />sand and gavel has been mined from the site. Reclamation for the 32.5 -acre <br />area is anticipated to require three months to complete. <br />3.1.4 Public Use <br />The owner will not to allow public use of the permit area for recreation <br />purposes. <br />
