Reclamation efforts will moat probably be conducted in the late Pall oP the year
' following the year that the banks were contoured and sloped. This procedure is
intended to assure that the slopes have stabilized and that the topsoil will be
adequate to support the species of grasses that will be planted. The rationale
in the late fall planting time table ie to take advantage of the natural
' moistures that would occur over the winter and spring after planting was
accomplished.
' The primary components of the end reclamation will be the access roads and the
lake. All reclamation will have been completed at this site within five years
of permit issuance.
In response to the statement from the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the
following comments are submitted.
' No trees will be disturbed at this site. It would be possible by the applicant
to provide several small cottonwood trees to be transplanted at the site.
The creation of an island would be difficult to accomplish es it is not
compatible with the mining plan nor does the extent oP the proposed operations
allow this to be done.
The applicant recognizes the benefits of an irregular shoreline and will provide
Por this in the shaping oP the pit banks, particularly on the southeast
shoreline. The peninsula that is recommended by the Division of Wildlife is
t placed at a location that is not included in the planned affected area.
The applicant concurs that various slopes should be constructed. This can be
' accomplished during shaping and contouring oP the banks. The various degrees
of sloping and the proposal oP shoals will be constructed es closely ea possible
to the recommendations submitted by the Division oP Wildlife.
-10-
