EXHIBIT D <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />The intention of the applicant Ss to conduct mining operations and subsequent <br />reclamation efforts in such a manner that the affected site can be returned to <br />the lend owner Por his use with the belief that the end result will positively <br />enhance the surrounding environment. <br />The ultimate results of operations at this site will be that a lake has been <br />created that ie Ped by ground water. <br />Currently, the applicant expects that total activities at this site will be <br />concluded within two years oP commencement or 1991. <br />The access roads (1.5 acres) shall remain intact up to the point of interception <br />with the pit bank. These roadways also provide access to the property directly <br />north oP the lake that is currently being used as pasture ]and. Therefore, it <br />is the wish of the land owner to preserve these roads for hls future use. <br />The area that has been excavated (8.25 acres) will be developed as a lake and <br />will be graded and eloped according to MLRD standards and speclPlcations. SSde <br />slopes oP the pit area will be graded to a 3:1 Sncline (horizontal: <br />' vertical}. This sloping oP the pit banks will occur during excavation oP the <br />pit run materials. <br />' The floor of the pit will 6e left irregular so as to Poster a more suitable <br />habitat Por aquatic species. <br />Once the site is exhausted and reclamation grading is complete, dewetering will <br />' cease, the lake will be permitted to P111, and the water table will return to <br />]ta natural level. <br />' It is moat probable that the applicant will accomplish bank eloping and spreading <br />oP topsoil immediately after the completion of mining efforts. This action will <br />hopefully assist Sn establishing stable banks and slopes most promptly. <br />' A layer of 6" to 12" oP native topsoil will be placed on the pit banks above <br />the normal water line. The areas that have been provided with topsoil will be <br />reseeded according to the Soil Conservation Services recommendations, providing <br />' those recommendations are acceptable with the MLRD. These reseeding efforts <br />.shell occur in the late Pall oP the year that the area was actually prepared to <br />receive vegetation. Preparation shell be tilling or scarifying. <br />' The method of revegetatian shall be by drilling and straw mulch (crimped). <br />Mulch shall be applied at a rate of two tons per acre.
