Rousseau, McGehee
February 4, 1989
Page 2
4) The shoreline of the pit should be left as irregular as possible;
i.e. create points, peninsulas, bays, etc. This will provide
additional fish and wetland habitats. It also gives the pit a more
natural appearance.
As part of this recoim~~dation the attached map shows the location
and approximate size of a peninsula which we would like to see
constructed.
5) The sides of the pit should have various slopes rather than a
continuous 3:1 as proposed. We recommend that a corner of the west
side of the pit be sloped 4:1 to 5:1 to create a littoral area for
fish, waterfowl, and shorebirds.
As part of this recorm~~datian the attached map shows the location of
l two shoals, on the north and south walls, which we would like to see
J crostructed. These shoals should have a shallow slope.
Sincerely,
William R.
