UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE
301 South Howes, Room 327, Ft. Collins, CO. 80521
truly 6, 1978
Mr. Bob Marsh
Ideal Basis Ind.
P, 0. Box 1949
Ft. Collins, CO. 80522
RE: Sandstone Quarry
Dear Mr. Marsh:
The Sandstone Quarry west of the cement plant is on a easterly-facing
slope of the Southern Rocky Mountain foothills with a shallow foothill
range site of good condition. It is mined only several months of the year,
so presents a problem in reclamation because not enough overburden is
moved and the mining is progressing downward without much areas to be re-
claimed. It would be best to wait until the mining is complete and reclaim
the quarry then.
Sincerely,
,~ -~ ~ .
Glenn M. McCarty ~
District Conservationist
'3
0
