• This disruption of the aquatic community wouid be felt
bo[h above and belo~~ the erac[ since any aquatic
organisms migrating up or down stream would be dep~n-
dent on the whole strum reach and would be a~:ersely
impacted during migration.
Foidel Creek is the major drainage for coal ]ease
applications C-22644 and C-26913 and is considered a
non-fishery. Tha ;rain impact ~oould be an increase in
siltation in Foidel Creek from fugitive dust a-.d sur-
face runoff. This siltation would reduce and;~r alter
the benthic organisms, ultimate]y affecting t`._ whola
ecosystem. This could have an impact on the fisl-,eries
downstream since Foidel Creek is utilized for spaomir.g
• and rearing of spring~spa~,mers such as rainbo:: trout.
Any alterations of the benthic organisms would adverse-
ly impact young-of-the-year trout (reduction o' food
i
supply) and any increase in siltation could increase
i
i suffocation of eggs which would affect the aquatic
community of surrounding streams.
Endangered or Threatened Species
No threatened or endangered aquatic species would
be impacted by Chis proposal.
~ 15.
