fan installation, the lower portion of the existing paaerline amass road,
and the cut material stoc}q~ile. 'Ihe locations of these drainage wntrol
structures are shown on the South Mine Fan Iru~-tallation Map, (Map 30).
All berms and containment basins will be inspec.-ted on a regular basis for
damage or erosion and any problem areas will be repaired.
'Ihe proposed catchment basins should adequately control surface runoff aryl
~~~*+* yields frcxit proposed disturbance areas. Zhe incised catchment
basins are designed to contain all runoff fran the contributing drainage
area resulting frwn a 10-year, 24-Ha1r storm event while maintaining a
mininnrm of 0.3 foot freeboard. Design calwlations for the catcrmient
basins are included in Appendix C, Small Area F7ce~tion Hydrologic
Doc~mwntation.
A small ephemeral tributary drainage is located approximately twenty-five
feet east of the proposed fan installation. In on9er to evaluate the need
for a flood protection berm to isolate the fan installation fran possible
flooding, flood stage calculations were crnq~leted for this drainage.
'These calculations are prP~*+r~ in Appendix C, Small Area Dcemption
Hydrologic Docimm~tation, aryl indicate that a protective structure is not
r~ssary since the peak discharge fran a 100-year, 24-hour storm event
would be contained by the existing drainage rl~annel.
Since all applicable exeag~tion requirements of ld~le 4.05.2(3) are
adequately addre,sed, EE'CI respectfully requests approval of a Small Area
FSccemption for the South Mine Fan Installation.
~:~._~~~m.:o.:
~,nv~ ~o.~ 200 Rb Revised -July 1992
