II'
~'
I~
I
1
1
6.3 Wildlife
a. Safety and Protection - Any existing wildlife species which
must be kept safe and protected are located on adjacent prop-
erty and not on the mining site. No new access roads will be
constructed. Although there may have been some wildlife species
which used the crops as temporary cover, there will be no sig-
nificant impact on wildlife.
b. Habitat management and creation - The reclaimed site will con-
sist of three ponds. Adjacent areas will be left in their
natural state. In order to minimize the impact from traffic on
the two County Roads, screening mounds revegetated with trees,
shrubs, and grasses will be constructed. Also it has been sug-
gested by the Colorado Division of 4ildlife to install a cul-
vert under the County Road connecting the two largest ponds to
allow fish access from one pond to another.
