The B2t horizon ie
commonly heavy clay loam or tight clay. The IIC horizon has a hue of
IOYR or 7SYR.
Dailey Series
The Dailey aeries consists of deep, somewhat excessive-
ly drained so17s that formed in noncalcareous, eolian
materials. Da17ey soils aze in upland valleys and on convex
ridges and hills. Slopes are 0 to 9 percent. Average annual
precipitation ranges from 15 to 19 inches and the mean
annual temperature is about 48 degrees F.
Daley soils are similar to the Valent sons. They are
near the Valent, Julesb(ug and Haxtun sons. Valent soils
lack dark surface layers extending to 10 inches or more.
Julegburg and Haxtun soils have B2t horizons.
115
A typical pedon of Dailey loamy sand is located 375
feet east and 10 feet north of the southwest corner of
section 21, T.9N, R.48W.
Al-0 to 16 inches; grayish brown (IOYR 5/2) loamy sand, very dark
grayish brown (IOYR 8l2) moist; weak fine granular structure; soft,
very friable; neutral (pH 5.3); gradual wavy boundary. Dix soils are on
upland ridges and knolls with slopes of 3 to 25 percent.
Average annual precipitation ranges from 15 to 19 inches
and mean annual temperature is about 48 degrees F.
The Dix soils are similaz to the Peetz and Eckley sons.
They are neaz the Peetz, Eckley and Chappell soils. Peetz
sails are calcareous throughout. Eckley soils have B2t
horizons.
