1
1
' the milling process, and substantial, separate foundations
have been included in the mill building' s design. The
erection of the steel frame, and the attachment of the metal
' wall and roof panels, proceeded along with the necessary
plumbing and electrical work. An internal wall, insulated on
both sides to reduce noise and dust, separate the crushing
t plant from the grinding circuit on the upper level of the
mill. Three coarse ore bins, one fine ore bin, and a
thickener tank were fabricated from steel at the millsite.
The total amount of the surface acreage affected by the
construction of this building, the three coarse ore bins, and
the associated receiving and shipping areas of the milling
facility is . 389 acres.
' A 30 by 40 foot metal building is planned to house an assay
laboratory and mill office that will be built following the
completion of the millsite. This building will be
constructed southwest of the millsite, on the patented Oscar
Lode, between the 8, 590 and 8, 595 foot contour interval (see
' Map A) . The total affected land surface that will be
involved in the construction of this building is . 027 acres.
Because the mill processes both gold-silver tellurides and
' various combinations of gold-silver sulfides, it has been
designed as a composite system of gravity and flotation
concentration. The ore processing flow chart shows
' diagrammatically the sequence of operations that take place
in the plant (Exhibit 1) . It is a simplified version of the
flow sheet that was used to design this concentration mill.
The flow sheet was developed to decide the number, types,
' sizes, and capacities of the processing machinery to be
installed in the milling facility. This information
determined the positions of the machinery with respect to one
' another, and the quantities of ore and water in transit at
every point throughout the mill. Power requirements for each
piece of equipment established the sizes of the motors that
' will be connected with the milling machinery. Laboratory
experiments and pilot tests were also factored into the
choice of this flowsheet, which resulted in the final mill
design.
' Ore from COX Inc. /Homestate Inc. mines will be transported to
the millsite in a small dump truck, and unloaded into one of
two coarse are bins. These ore bins feed the crushing plant,
which incorporates primary and secondary crushers in a
closed-circuit. After crushing, the ore is stored in a fine
' ore bin with enough capacity to insure a 12 hour supply of
ore for the grinding and concentrating circuits of the mill.
This fine ore is then conveyed to the grinding circuit if
needed to complete the comminution process. Fresh water will
' be added to the ore for wet grinding in a ball mill that will
be in closed-circuit with a spiral classifier. Gravity
concentration will follow the grinding circuit, with
' separation being accomplished by a double Jig and a shaking
