2.05.6(6) Subsidence Survey, Subsidence Monitoring, and Subsidence Control Plan
(continued)
down.
Photo 7 shows an aerial view of the Guadanoli mine, the coal dump at the extreme right
center of the picture is shown in closeup in Photo 8. The arrow, located just to the right
of center of photo 7, shows the 3 foot iron rail shown at the arrow in photo 9 which is a
closeup of the mine entrance.
Photos 10 and 11 show the azea of the 1961 mine opening and coal spoil area, shown on
Map 2. The spoil is about 100 feet long and 30 feet wide and is composed of fine coal.
Photos 4 and S show subsidence located East of the Phase 2 pit.
Photo 12 shows subsidence around We 30" steel air vent shown on Maps 2 and 6. An area
of subsidence measuring SO by 1S feet exists, and is within the pit area. The vent pipe will
• act as a reference in locating the underground workings.
The removal of as much of the coal as possible in the pit area insures that no additional
subsidence will take place in the future. A subsidence survey will be conducted, and
required repairs, if any, will be addressed at the time of the survey.
-2-
F _~
Revised for permit renewal 11/17/95
