Doc Date:12H1/2001 III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
999
u
C( 2.05.6(6) Subsidence Survey, Subsidence Monitoring, and Subsidence Control Plan ~~
Recorded subsidence features from the Engle mine operation, within the permit area, are
shown on Map No. 6. Subsidence features shown on this map that are still noticeable are
those just South of the intersection of the two forks of Engleville Gulch, the others having
been filled in by the stream. Other areas of subsidence are shown in the photographs on
the following pages.
Photo 1 shows an open hole located just East of the Phase 2 mine which is due to
subsidence of rooms 80 to 100 feet below the surface. This is probably the most dangerous
azea in the vicinity of the mine since this small opening is probably the start of a much
larger opening below. The dark area in the left center of the photo is the tip of subsidence
shown in Photos 3 and 6. The road identified on photo 3 leads to the TV towers and near
drill hole No. 12 drilled on the road. The azea of subsidence show on these photographs
is about 50 feet pond, 20 feet wide, and 15 feet deep. It is outside the permit area.
• Photo 2 is an open subsidence feature located about 200 feet north of the 30 inch vent pipe
in Phase 2 of the mine, and is at the end of a small drift. Here the coal was about 25 feet
-1-
Revised for permit renewal 11/17/95
