Molybdenum. The value of the molybdenum for all of the samples
was <1 ppm. The Wyoming Land Quality Division has set the sus-
pect level for molybdenum at values greater than 1.0 ppm. No
problems with molybdenum are expected.
Nickel. The values for nickel found in the top and bottom mate-
rial of the C-Seam are 5.2 and 0.76 ppm. Nickel is relatively
insoluble, and should present no problem with respect to leach-
ing. Therefore, no problems are anticipated with respect to
nickel.
Selenium. The values for selenium are relatively low. No prob-
lems will be encountered with groundwater quality with respect to
selenium.
Zinc. The values for zinc in the top and bottom material of the
C- Seam are 9.36 and 1.49 ppm. The values for zinc in the B-Seam
floor coal, B-Seam roof and the temporary waste storage piles #1
and #2 are <1, 1, 2 and 2. The Montana Guidelines have estab-
lished the suspect level for zinc of 40 ppm; therefore, no prob-
lems are anticipated with respect to zinc.
Phosphorus. Because of the low concentration of phosphorus in
the top and bottom material of the C-Seam, no possible contribu-
tion of dissolved phosphorus to groundwater is anticipated.
Mercury. Mercury values are low; all well below the limit of 0.5
ppm set forth in Montana Guidelines. No problems with ground-
. water quality will be encountered with respect to mercury.
Total Carbonate (CaCo3). The values for total carbonate in the
top and bottom material of the C-Seam are 0.9 and 1.1 ppm. These
values are well below the 30 ppm limit set forth in the Wyoming
Guidelines. No possible problem with respect to groundwater is
anticipated.
Total Combustible Solids and Total Non-Combustible Solids. The
results of these analyses indicate that there is an amount of
coal in the samples; however, no problems are anticipated as a
result of these analyses.
• 2.04-27
Revised June 29, 1990
