• 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK - OBJECTIVES
The goal of this study is to satisfy all regulatory requirements con-
cerning the baseline groundwater hydrology role in the permit application
to be submitted to O.S.M. and the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board.
More specifically, this report combines the previous hydrologic work pre-
formed by VTN and the new supplemental work conducted by Morrison-Knudsen
to be included in the permit application. Included in this report is the
one year baseline data collection requirement, which amends the preliminary
data presented in the initial report. The necessary additional groundwater
data has been obtained through the following tasks: Installation of 7
monitoring wells (2 dual completions and 3 single completions), conduction
of 3 pump tests (two in the lower coal and one in the upper coal), quarterly
water quality monitoring for one year, monthly static water level monitoring
for one year, and final data assessment through computer modeling and other
interpetive methods. The completion dates of the above tasks are presented
below:

Task
Completion Date
• lJell Installation 2-81
• Pump Tests 2-81
• Quarterly Water Quality Monitoring 4-81
• Monthly Static Water Level Monitoring 4-81
• Fina•1 Interpretation 5-81

2
