• of water in detention basins. It has been shown under this Rule and Rule
2.05.6(3) that this effect will not cause material damage.
finally, the reclamation plan calls for restoration of all disturbed
areas to approximate original contour. Topsoil redistribution, prompt
revegetation, and contour furrowing will all aid in reestablishing the
original rates of runoff, erosion, infiltration, evapotranspiration, and
ground water recharge, as demonstrated under Rule 2.05.6(3). In summary,
the proposed reclamation plan will be effective in mitigating any possible
effects of mining on possible alluvial valley floors.
Environmental Monitoring
The monitoring plan described under Rule 2.05.6(3) includes monitoring
sites on possible alluvial valley floors. The location of the sites is
shown on Map 4a, Mine No. 3 Hydrology. These locations are: I) Middle
Creek upstream from Mine No. 3; 2) Foidel Creek upstream from Mine No. 3;
3) Middle Creek downstream from Mine No. 3; 4) Fish Creek upstream from
• Tipple No. 3; and 5) Fish Creek downstream from Tipple No. 3.
The monitoring sites consist of: shallow wells drilled and cased
through the alluvium for ground water level measurement and sampling;
stream gaging and sampling sites; and staff gauges for measurement of stream
stage.
•
2.06-40 Revised 06/15/90
