• Exhibit J it <br />Vegetation Information <br />The permit area which is to be mined as a placer is between <br />11,500 and 12,000 feet in elevation. This places a vat majority <br />of the mine area above timber line. This obviously ~s a major <br />controlling factor to the native vegetation. The area Hof Areas A <br />and B have conifers that commonly exceed 50 feet. Th~re are no <br />trees in Phase I and Phases II and III are completely above <br />timber line. There is one unidentified low shrub in ~he permit <br />area that has a general height of 2 to 3 feet in height. Besides <br />this shrub all other plant life rarely exceeds B inches in <br />height. Phases I, II, and III are in the Alpine vegetation <br />• Zones. Some of the principle species are as follows: <br />Moss Campion (Silene aculis) <br />Mountain brome <br />Crustose-lichen j <br />Alpine Buttercup (Ramuncalus) <br />foliose-lichen <br />Blue Columbine (Aquilegia coerulea) <br />Idaho fescue <br />sedge-grass <br />Silky Phacelia (Phacelia sericea) i <br />wild raspberry <br />Alpine Forget-Me-Not (Rydb) <br />• <br />21 <br />
