This will continue to be the case as the deposi t is mined <br />• stepping up the hill following this enriched zone. Some economi- <br />cal peripheral material will also be mined. <br />ti The depth of the eluvium on this property ranged from 0 to <br />an unknown thickness. Since the ice dike has never ben excavat- <br />ed to bed rock, its depth is unknown. The material ~s at least <br />30 feet, and is maybe up to 50 feet. The periphe~'al eluvium <br />ranges from 0 to 20 feet, averaging S feet. <br />The stratum beneath the eluvium are Upper Camb~ain Swatch <br />Quartzites, members of Peerless Shale, Lower Ordivici~an Manitou <br />Limestone. The stratigraphy of Pennsylvania Mountain ~s given in <br />Figure 1. <br />There are also two intrusive rocks found in the akea; quartz <br />monozite and diabase. These intr.usizes are prob~bly Early <br />• Tertiary in age. <br />• 8 <br />
