i <br />Two additional ponds (designated as P1 and P2) wi~l be added ~ <br />• to aid in the water requirements of Phase II and II1.~ The first <br />reservoir will be present at a historic dam location) which has <br />been abandoned. This dam will be reinforced and enlar~Ied. It is <br />located at the junction of the upper. and the lower pi~elines. n <br />second clam will be constructed near the site of the old open pit <br />of previous operations. These ponds will be used to control new <br />water addition into the system. <br />Phase I, II, and III will consist of areas of 15.~, 9.2, and <br />13.4 acres respectively. There is also an area des#gnated as <br />Area A which consists of 6.4 acres and an Area B (2 aces), which <br />will be affected yi-ound which will not necessarily be art of the <br />mi.ni.ng but will be affected by mine Cw~ction and activity. The <br />topsoil storage area consists of 2.8 acres. The min~ng of the <br />• areas of Phases I, II, and I11 will create a major disturbance <br />over the life of the mining of each particular phase As each <br />mining phase is completed the phase will be reclai~ed causing <br />I <br />moderate and minor disturbances. <br />The activities of mining Phases I, II, and III wi1j1 create a <br />moderate disturbance in Area B for the life of the pro~ect. Area <br />B will be the location of the structure's facilities, I}arking and <br />equipment which results from the mining operation. <br />The internal roads of office sites of Area B already exist <br />as a part of previous mining operations. <br />The proposed mining time table is: <br />• 6 <br />
