Areas in which J. F. Sato Associates plan to conduct geological and
hydrologic searches are located within Sections 19, 20, 29, 30, 31
and 32 of Township 20 South, Range 69 West and Sections 5 and 6 of
Township 21 South, Range 69 West, and Section 1, Township 21 South,
Range 70 West, Sections 24, 25, and 36 of Township 20 South, Range
70 West.
It is extremely important to note that this area has been mined by
numerous surface and underground mines in the past 50 to 60 years.
Both subsidence and coal waste dumps are prevalent throughout the
permit area. Undoubtedly, the presence of numerous underground
workings will certainly affect the ground water studies which GEC
Minerals, Inc. plans to conduct. It will be difficult, to determine
the actual baseline water quality and quantity parameters which
existed prior to disturbance by mining.
•
u
2.04-10
