Page 3
Thy>_ proposed area is a high flattop bluff, which after mining
will be similar in appearance, but lowered by twenty feet. During
reclamation, all efforts will be made to keep the contour of the
area looking as natural as possible,
It is estimated that the operation will take approximately ten
years to complete. After the area is mined, it will be reclaimed
to grassland, following those quidelines established by the Soil
Conserv~ition Service (letter attached). It has been agreed that the
seed mis:ture suggested by the Soil Conversation Service be alterted
as reconunended by the Mined Land Reclamation staff to include Western
Wheatgrass at 3~p/acre and Russian idildrye at 2/~/acre.
We anticipate reclaiming part of Tract "A" as we begin mining
into Tract "C". We will grade Tract "A" to the 5300 feet elevation
and prepare for revegetation. Revegetation will be done in stages.
We will seed all property in Tract "A" that is not being used for
set up areas for the mining into Tract "C", We will continue re-
claimation as described as we mine through Tract "C". We will ex-
cavate approximately 34 acres this year for reseeding in the spring ,
of 1983. (see Reclamation flap)
EXHIBIT F - RECLAMATION MAP
See attached.
The affected area after reclamation will be a level plateau of
grassland at an elevation of 5300 feet. Tract C will adjoin to
Tract A ,it the 5300 feet elevation level on the northeasterly corner.
The western wall will have a 3:1 slope with the unaffected land at an
elevation of 5320 feet.
EXHIBIT (~ - WATER INFORMATION
The mining will be a dry screening operation, and no water re-
sources will be used. There is no surface water, streams or ponds
on the property. The surrounding land is relatively flat and there
is no major drainage through the mining area. We will construct
erosion control damns on the drainageways on the north and south sides
of the plateau to prevent sediment from entering Fountain Creek.
(see reccmmendation by Soil Conversation Service letter attached)
EXHIBIT H - WILDLIFE INFORMATION
The Colorado Wildlife Department has been advised of the proposed
operation. They have studied the area and concluded that there will
be no significant impact of the Wildlife (see attached letter).
EXHIBIT I - SOIL INFORMATION
Soils information was obtained from the Soil Conservation Service
(see atta~~hed letter), They indicated there would be no significant
problems with erosion or dust during the mining operation.
