Topsoil will be
replaced and seeding will occur at an optimum time to insure
seedling establishment after emergence.
Grading
a All available topsoil stripped from the 8.3 acres of
disturbed area the first year (5 acres to be mined, 2.5
a acres for plant, and 0.8 acres haul road) will be stockpiled
in a 10 foot high 40 foot wide by approximately 1600 feet
long berm along the northern boundary of the operation.
This berm will be placed so as to act as a visual barrier
to the active mining and screening plant. The berm will be
seeded with native grasses (see revegetation) and rye. The
rye will be the nurse crop and aesthetic cover until the
E-1
