Water Quality Control Act - 5 <br />Title 25, Article 8 <br />he shall so ratify the governor, who ~y renove him and appoint a qualified person <br />• for the unexpired portion of the regular team. <br />(3) Each meaber of the canmission not otherwise in full-time ev~loyment <br />of the state shall receive a per diem of forty dollars for each day actually <br />and necessarily spent in the discluuge of official duties, but not to exceed <br />twelve hundred dollars in any one year; and sll menbers, ex officio end those <br />appointed by the governor, shall receive traveling and other necessary expenses <br />actually incurred in the performance of his official duties. <br />(4) 1lre governor shall appoint the chairmen iron among the membership oP <br />the carmission. the ccmnission shall select from its own membership a vice- <br />chairnan and secretary. The cannission shall keep a record of its proceedings. <br />(5) The cartnission shall hold regular public monthly meetings and may hold <br />special meetings on the call of the chairman or vice-chairnan at such other times <br />as deemed necessary. At least five days advance written notice of the time and <br />place of each meeting shall be mailed to each member. <br />(6) All members, both ex officio and those appointed by the governor, <br />shall have a vote. A majority of the carmission shall constitute a quorum, and <br />the concurrence of a majority of the canmission in any matter within its powers <br />and duties shall be required for any determination made by the caintiscion. <br />25-8-202. DUTIES OF THE Q"1•41ISSION. (1) The cannission shall develop and <br />maintain a cctr~prehensive and effective program for prevention, control, and abate- <br />ment of water pollution and for water quality protection throughout the entire <br />state and, in connection therewith, shall: <br />(a) Classify state waters in accordance with section 25-8-203; <br />(b) Promulgate water quality standards in accordance with section 25-8-204; <br />(c) Pra~ulgate control regulations in accordance with section 25-8-205; <br />(d) Pramilgate waste discharge permit regulations in accordance with <br />sections 25-8-501 to 25-8-503; <br />(e) Perforn duties assigned to the ammission in part 7 of this article <br />with respect to the location, design, construction, financing, and operation of <br />sewage treatment plants; <br />(f) Perform duties assigned to the carmission in section 25-5-206 with <br />respect to the location, design, construction, and operation of individual sewage <br />disposal systems; <br />(g) Review applications for underground detonations and discharges in <br />accordance with section 25-8-50.5; <br />(h) Review fmm time to time, at intervals oP not more than three years, <br />classification of waters, water quality standards, and control regulations which <br />• it has prvnulgated; <br />- 5 - <br />
