<br />(5) 'T'ederal act" means the federal water pollution control act amendments
<br />• of 1972 as fran time to time amended.
<br />(6) "Individual sewage disposal systan" means a systan or facility for
<br />treating, neutralizing, stabilizing, or disposing of sewage which is not a part
<br />of or connected to a sewage treatment corks.
<br />(7) "Municipality" means any regional cmmission, county, metropolitan
<br />district, sanitation district, aster and sanitation district, water conservancy
<br />district, metropolitan sewage disposal district, service authority, city and
<br />county, city, town, Indian tribe or authorized Indian tribal organization, or any
<br />two or more of than which are acting jointly in connection with a sewage tr~t-
<br />rnent works.
<br />(8) 'Permit" means a permit issued under this article.
<br />(9) "Person" means an individual,
<br />state, or political subdivision thereof,
<br />ity, cannission, or interstate body.

<br />federal agency, state agency, nunicipal-
<br />(10) "Point source" means any discernible, confined and discrete convey-
<br />ance, including but not limited to any pipe, ditch, channel, tunnel, conduit,
<br />well, discrete fissure, container, rolling stock, concentrated animal feeding
<br />operation, or vessel or other floating craft, from which pollutants are or may
<br />be discharged.
<br />(11) "Pollutant" means dredged spoil, dirt, slurry, solid waste, incinerator
<br />residue, sewage, sewage sludge, garbage, trash, chenical waste, biological nutrient,
<br />biological material, radioactive material, heat, wrecked or discarded equipment,
<br />rock, sand, or any industrial, municipal, or agricultural waste.
<br />(12) "Pollution" means the man-made, rtan-induced, or natural alteration
<br />of the physical, chemical, biological, and radiological integrity of water.
<br />(13) "Promulgate" means and includes authority to adopt, and from time to
<br />time amend, modify, publish, and put into effect.
<br />(14) "Schedule of cag7liance" means a schedule of ranedial measures and
<br />times including an enforceable sequence of actions or operations leading to can-
<br />pliance with any control regulation or effluent limitation.
<br />(15) "Sewage treatment works" means a system or facility for treating,
<br />neutralizing, stabilizing, or disposing of sewage which system or facility has a
<br />designed capacity to receive more than two thousand gallons oP sewage per day.
<br />The term "sewage treatment works" includes appurtenances such as outfall and
<br />outlet sewers, pumping stations, interceptors, collection lines, and related equip-
<br />ment.
<br />(18) "State waters" means any and all surface and subsurface waters which
<br />are contained 1n or flow in or through this state, except waters in sewage systans,
<br />waters in treatment works of disposal systems, waters in potable water distribu-
<br />• tion systeas, and all water withdrawn for use until use and treatment have been
<br />completed.
